Friday, March 28, 5:00pm - 6:30pm PST
This is an online workshop held via Zoom.
Dive into a world of intricate beauty, as we make work inspired by the renowned German biologist and artist, Ernst Haeckel! Known for his stunning illustrations of marine life, microscopic organisms, and intricate natural patterns, Haeckel’s work serves as the perfect foundation for learning to translate the complexity of nature into vibrant, flowing watercolors.
In this session, we'll celebrate the beauty of the natural world by exploring Haeckel's iconic illustrations, along with and the organic shapes of marine creatures, plants, and microorganisms that influenced his art. As we practice key watercolor techniques— including layering, wet-on-wet, and fine detail work—we’ll capture the fluidity and texture of nature’s forms in the style of Haeckel's highly decorative and symmetrical compositions.
Join Zoom 15 minutes early for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and class participants! Class will begin promptly at 5 minutes past the hour, so everyone has plenty of time to create!
