Friday, November 13, 5:00pm - 6:30pm PT
This is an online workshop held via Zoom.

This workshop is inspired by the daily drawing and painting practice of British sculptor, Phyllida Barlow. Phyllida’s daily drawings and paintings are records of shapes she encountered in her daily life, piled on top of one another and built piece by piece. In looking at her drawings and paintings, you can see the edge of a table, the back of a chair, a ball of string, and other everyday objects rendered in bold color and line. Her drawings and paintings feel improvisational and fun. We’ll start the workshop learning more about Phyllida’s life and work, and then get into drawing and painting. We’ll start by observing and recording the shape of an object near us then add another shape and finish off our shapes in unexpected ways.

Join Zoom 15 minutes early for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and class participants! Class will begin promptly at 5 minutes past the hour, so everyone has plenty of time to create!
