Jacquard Dorland's Wax Medium

We met the owner of Jacquard at a fair in New Orleans, and were so excited to connect with another family-owned, California-based company that shares our values of creative exploration and play. Dorland's Wax is one of our favorite Jacquard products—a versatile medium great for sealing and protecting watercolor paintings. It's made from a special blend of pure waxes and damar resin that won’t yellow over time, and will protect your artwork through the years!

We recommend using a fixative spray on your painting, then applying the wax with a fine cloth or gloved finger with smooth, even strokes. The wax provides a beautiful matte finish; once dry, you can also buff it with a smooth rag for a uniform satin gloss. Pro tip: try using it for collaging together your favorite scraps from your watercolor swatches and studies!
