Floralscapes – Piet Oudolf with Claire Wilson
Friday, September 13, 5:00 - 6:30pm PT
Explore the enchanting world of watercolor painting inspired by the iconic landscape designs of Piet Oudolf. I’m fortunate that his landscape design at The Highline forms an urban oasis for me to escape to in New York city. He is a prominent figure in the "New Perennial" movement, known for his designs and plant compositions that feature bold sweeps of herbaceous perennials and grasses, selected not only for their flower color but also for their textural qualities. In this class, you'll learn to capture the essence of Oudolf's naturalistic gardens through brushstrokes, mark making, and color blending techniques. Discover how to depict the rhythmic movement and stunning textures of his plant compositions on paper. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned painter, join me for a creative journey that celebrates the harmony between art and nature.
Join zoom 15 minutes early (4:45pm PT) for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 5:05pm PT so that everyone has plenty of time to join!
