SUNDAY, MARCH 16, 12 - 2pm PST
This is an in-person workshop at
CfM Art Room:
4035 Judah St, San Francisco, next door to our shop!

Matisse described his collage practice as “cutting directly into color”—a way of drawing with scissors where lines, forms, and colors come together in bold new ways. In this workshop, we’ll channel that creative spirit to make our collage pieces! Drawing isn’t just about pencils and pens: sometimes, it’s about slicing, layering, and piecing things together. Collage is a fantastic way to explore shapes, lines and composition in a hands-on, playful way. We’ll take inspiration from nature, tracing patterns and colors to create something unique. And yes, expect to get your hands delightfully messy in the process!

ABOUT INSTRUCTOR
Yina Kim is an illustrator and maker who can pretty much make anything. We first met her in 2014, when we discovered her and her partner Soojin's leather goods and shoe repair shop, Odsy Workshop, on Instagram, and immediately got a business crush on them. Flash forward a few years, when a CfM paint maker and friend told Yina they were making paint with us, and Yina said, "I want to do that, too!" So Yina started coming in to make paint during the hours she wasn't running her business and working on the myriad projects she always has going on, and thank goodness she did!
