CfM Turmeric

The spiciest, coziest bright yellow! We love our collection's natural earth yellow ochres and synthetic yellows and knew we needed a color where these two ends of the spectrum meet.

This blend doesn't contain turmeric powder, but emulates turmeric’s lovely richness. In the past we have tried to use actual turmeric as a pigment—to unsuccessful results, but it works great as a dye!

Turmeric is a blend of three of our core pigments, including a non-lightfast fluorescent which gives it that special pop we love! Fading can be reduced by coating finished pieces in a UV protective varnish and/or keeping them out of direct sunlight.

All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness!

Half Pans measure ~3/4" x 1/2" x 3/8" and contain ~2ml of paint.

Our custom blended colors don't have a Color Index number, as they consist of a unique blend of two or more pigments. All of our watercolors conform to ASTM D-4236.
