Similar to Payne's Grey, Shadow Blue is an alternative to shades of black being used to portray shadows. When looking at a shadow, it is composed not of black but of a rich mix of many colors, like reds, yellows and blues. Shadow Blue is the brighter, bold sibling to our darker, moody Payne's Grey. Both, however, have a creaminess and depth that can be found in colors blended from more than one color source. We hope you love this ethereal blue!
All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness!
Half Pans measure ~3/4" x 1/2" x 3/8" and contain ~2ml of paint.
Our custom blended colors don't have a Color Index number, as they consist of a unique blend of two or more pigments. All of our watercolors conform to ASTM D-4236.
