CfM Oxalis

CfM Oxalis captures the cheery yellow of the California wildflower also known as Woodsorrel, which many locals might remember from childhood as Sourgrass. Here in San Francisco, Oxalis seems to pop up from every available patch of soil in mid-February, and we wanted to celebrate this annual harbinger of spring!
Oxalis flowers make a wonderful and potent natural yellow dye, and CfM Oxalis was inspired by the flower and the slightly more orange dye bath. It's a bit more yellow than our Egg Yolk and a bit more orange than our Citron, with that nice touch of milkiness we love– a bright, buttery hue that can lend a delicate accent or bold field of color perfect for florals!
All of our watercolors are handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth and synthetic pigments, plus natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees), honey, glycerine, distilled water, and a dash of clove oil for freshness!
Half Pans measure ~3/4" x 1/2" x 3/8" and contain ~2ml of paint.
Our custom blended colors don't have a Color Index number, as they consist of a unique blend of two or more pigments. All of our watercolors conform to ASTM D-4236.
