NEW! Bridging Worlds with Dave Muller
Wednesday, February 12, 2:00pm - 3:30pm PST
Many of us are drawn to landscape painting to escape the human world and immerse ourselves in nature. But there is beauty to be found in the tension between human presence and the natural world. This class focuses on incorporating this tension into our artworks to create a compelling dialogue. We will cover topics including composition, brushwork, and techniques for balancing control and spontaneity with watercolor. Suitable for all experience levels.
Join zoom 15 minutes (1:45pm) early for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 2:05pm so that everyone has plenty of time to join!
SUGGESTED MATERIALS:
- Your favorite watercolors: as few or many as you are comfortable using at once.
- One or more large brushes (flat 1” is my preferred)
- Any other brushes you like to work with (round 12,8,4,1 etc)
- 4 or more sheets of watercolor paper, around 7”x5”
-
Tape for edges (3m scotch tape works great)
ABOUT DAVE
Dave Muller has been a friend and an inspiration to our shop since before we even existed. He is a staple in our Outer Sunset neighborhood as an artist and fellow business owner. Dave has a way of making art that is both incredibly free, yet very detailed and precise, which creates a beautiful balance especially while working with watercolor. Dave shares our studio space with us and we always love to see what he is working on—we’re so excited to learn from him here, as well!
Workshop recordings are sent automatically the day after class to everyone who paid for a spot, and are available for 30 days after the date of the workshop.
