The Power of Simple Shapes with Rawley Clark
Tuesday, April 4, 5:00pm - 6:30pm PST
One thing that I always say when teaching is to never underestimate the power of a simple shape. In this class, we will be creating minimal paintings that focus on compositions of shapes, lines and colors. Through a series of exercises that employ line techniques and reference images, we will learn to work fluidly and to allow our paints and intuition to guide us through a painting. By the end of the session we will have created a series of small paintings by exploring layering, texture and color palettes.
Join zoom 15 minutes early (4:45pm) for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 5:05pm PST so that everyone has plenty of time to join!
- Watercolors - any set you use and love will work great!
- Brushes - any you have on hand will do
- Sheets of Watercolor Paper - we love 140lb, cold press watercolor paper and recommend 9x12 but any size is fine
- Journal or Scratch Paper
- Pens and/or Markers
- Cup of Water
- Mixing Palette or Surface to mix on
