Friday, September 29, 5:00pm - 6:30pm PST

We will create free flowing watercolor interpretations of single floral shapes and all over patterns. Exploring watercolors on wet and dry paper surfaces. Allowing the water and paints to guide us through a painting. We will explore charging and wet on wet techniques. Once dry we will work back into the shapes and floral interpretations with sketch techniques to create floral patterns. By the end of the session we will have learnt some basic floral brushstroke and watercolor texture techniques and have created sketched floral patterns from provided reference images and our imaginations.

Join zoom 15 minutes early (4:45pm) for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 5:05pm so that everyone has plenty of time to join!

ABOUT AMY

Originally from the Cotswolds, in England Amy grew up in a world of wild flowers, farms and bee keeper grandparents. Inspired by her love of gardens and flowers, Amy captures ethereal representations of nature that emulate the feeling of spring we want to bring into our homes and wardrobes. Amy has been applying her art to the worldwide market since 2005. After earning her B.A. in Textile and Fashion design from Winchester school of Art in the UK, Amy moved to NYC at a leading fashion accessory company. It was here she learnt the art of transforming a sketch onto product. 15 years on, she has established her own textile design studio in Brooklyn and continues to work in the NY fashion and interiors industry collaborating with prestigious brands to create custom artwork. She has enjoyed teaching watercolor floral classes and this year she is launching her own name sake brand of prints and printed objects.
