Painting Leaves with Sophie Tivona

Capture the vivid colors of Autumn! Leaves are a subject that hold our attention year after year and they continue to inspire new paintings. We will paint a composition of leaves, exploring different techniques and with close attention to color matching. Sophie will share some botanical tips and tricks that she uses in her watercolor practice. If you've painted leaves before, consider returning to this lovely subject for deeper exploration!
Join zoom 15 minutes early (4:45pm) for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 5:05pm PST so that everyone has plenty of time to join!
SUGGESTED MATERIALS:

paintbrush (one larger and one small detail brush)

leaves! (keep in mind the complexity of veins and color, try to find at least one "simple" leaf)
ABOUT SOPHIE
I have followed a meandering path to find my way to a career in illustration and I'm overjoyed to share my love of nature through painting. Watercolor is my muse and I love its unpredictable, unforgiving qualities; it is my daily joy to harness the wildness of the medium and reveal its delicacy and strength.
