*GUEST SESSION* Painting in Negative Space with Tess Rubenstein
Thursday, July 14, 5:00-6:30pm PST
This workshop will explore the interplay between positive and negative space. We’ll shift focus from subject to background as we practice design elements such as silhouette, simplified form, and compositional balance. Rather than placing emphasis on any particular subject (the positive space) we’ll create our composition by highlighting the space around that subject (the negative space). In doing so, we’ll develop a fresh perspective on composition, and practice a playful new approach to working with watercolors.
Join zoom 15 minutes early for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 5:05pm so that everyone has plenty of time to join!
