Let’s demystify the media of gouache: a wonderful opaque water-based medium that lends itself to smooth, matte finishes, velvety colors, layering, and endless depth on paper. In this session, we’ll explore how to push and pull our paints and explore their versatility by painting our very own quilts! Pulling from the symbolism of our own lives, we’ll craft patchwork that represent the things we love and the moments that are important to us. We’ll cover gouache’s differences (and similarities) to watercolor, layering, brush techniques, and how to achieve consistent results. Beginners and experienced painters alike are welcome!

Join zoom 15 minutes early (4:45pm) for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 5:05pm PST so that everyone has plenty of time to join!
