Location: We'll meet at the shop and walk up the block to Dave Muller's art studio!
This month I’ll be lucky enough to be visiting San Francisco for my first class on the West Coast, so we’ll be exploring fluid florals together in person!
I’ll be making a pit stop at the flower market to pick up some seasonal blooms, we’ll meet at the Case for Making shop and then make our way to Dave's airy, spacious studio to observe local flowers from life.
This class is a lovely opportunity to let go, and allow pigment to flow and travel with water to capture the beauty of blooms. Flowers have been a constant source of inspiration for my textile designs for many years and I just find it so therapeutic to try and capture their beauty with paint.
In this session we’ll be studying fresh flowers and observing their wide range of colour and depth. Exploring wet on wet, charging, and pulling techniques we’ll move pigments around to capture the magic of flowers.

** Some materials will be provided, bring along your paints and any additional supplies you feel excited about. **
Paper and a mixing dish will be provided. Please bring your paint set and a few brushes! We recommend a size 8 round brush and size 8 or larger filbert brush which are great for flower petals. If you need any extra supplies, you're welcome to pick them up in the shop at 10% off the night of the event (along with anything else you'd like!)
Please join us at 6pm at Case for Making and we'll walk up to Dave's studio together to begin the class at 6:30!

ABOUT CLAIRE
Claire Wilson is a fine artist, creative educator, and textile designer living in Brooklyn, NY. Through her work she explores the beauty of the female form, interior spaces & fashion while considering the use of colour, shape and textures. Having spent her career creating fabric designs in the fashion industry, colour palettes are the foundation of her practice.
