Ghost Party with Riley Scanlan

Let's get spooky! In this workshop we will get more comfortable just putting paint to paper and working on making organic free form shapes. Painting ghosts is a great way to practice these skills. Ghosts come in all sizes, there is no wrong way to paint a ghost. We will also work on layering watercolors and how to fill larger shapes while painting. This class is great for all levels, but very beginner friendly! These ghosts will make very cute, spooky, and festive decor.
Join zoom 15 minutes early (4:45pm) for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and other class participants! Session instructions will begin promptly at 5:05pm PST so that everyone has plenty of time to join!
SUGGESTED MATERIALS:
- Watercolor Paint - Titanium White, Pewter Lake, Metallic Silver, Ivory Black, Indigo, and Kremer White are my go-tos for this project.
- Watercolor Paper - This workshop is a great way to get comfortable and explore black watercolor paper (Not necessary, but fun to use!), OR white paper works great too, any white watercolor paper.
- Watercolor Brush, Round 4, 6, or 8 works great for this workshop. And that's really all you need. You can also bring a Mop brush if you want to play around with that, and or a detail brush like a Round 0 or 1.

ABOUT RILEY
Riley is a graduate of FIDM and currently lives in San Francisco! She has been with our team since December 2020; first working her magic downstairs in our shop and now heads our customer service and e-commerce department! Chances are if you’ve recently ordered anything from our online shop, Riley has written your note, packed your order, and answered all of your email questions! Riley enjoys hiking and adventuring through state or national parks and usually paints along the trail! She’s always reading and has a cat named Bennie. All workshops are recorded and the replay will be automatically available the day after class to everyone who paid for a spot! The link to the recording will expire 30 days after the date of the session.
*Each class is currently capped at 40 people, but we will be offering 5 free spots per class to people with financial need. Email friends@caseformaking.com if you would like to request a spot. Free spots are first come, first serve.
**If you’d like to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can open up the spot! We are only able to refund if we’re notified at least 48 hours prior to the session.
