This workshop is open to anyone looking to explore watercolor in a spontaneous and playful way. In this class we'll paint feline portraits with \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003ean emphasis on the fluidity of watercolor, rather than anatomical precision.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eWe'll begin by studying the work of a few artists who found inspiration in cats, ranging from Ancient Egyptian artists to Henri Matisse, and we'll explore the many ways these curious companions have been interpreted through art. From there, we'll create our own feline paintings using washes, layering, and playful approaches to positive and negative space.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReference photos will be provided, and you’re also welcome to bring your own imagery (or pets!) for inspiration. She earned her MFA in painting at the Burren College of Art in Ireland, and has an interdisciplinary background in visual arts and somatic psychology. Her work explores the intersection of healing, meaning-making, and the natural world.
